This piece has been waiting patiently for a much needed makeover. Not to be mean but it was so ugly I pushed it aside for awhile.

The picture doesn't do justice on just how ugly this was. I'm sure at one time it was pretty cute but not anymore! The top was pink, bottom blue, and flowers around the drawer pulls. I actually like the flowers but decided it was best to paint over them.

After some serious cleaning, black paint, wax, and hardware, she is full of life again. The drawer pulls could be switched out but I decided to use some I had rather then buy new ones.....kinda reminds me of Alice in Wonderland.

Thanks for checking out my blog and for all the love and support! I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! XoXo. :)

This antique chest of drawers has a beautiful design, but unfortunately, the finish was severely scratched up and desperately needed some love. Don't get me wrong, I love the origional color....but I'm more of a refinisher then a restorer. Here is a before picture:

Yes, I know, she was pretty before. It's hard to see all her scratches in the picture. I really wanted to pull her inside and stage before my blog post to get a really nice after picture but....as you can see, that didn't happen. Oh well. I've been playing with some different apps to get a good before/ after picture but haven't found one I love yet. This is the closest I've gotten but it chops the pictures a little....

And of course, my little man needed to jump in a picture.

I hope everyone is having a good week and getting thru this looooong winter. I'm ready for Spring!

This vintage Art Deco metal vanity chair started out a little sad, but all she needed was a little love. (And fur!) This is a custom order so is not available but I wanted to show off my work. I love color, so this project was fun for me. Oh, and did I mention, I got to buy fur? :) Most of my furniture makeovers are on wood so I don't get a chance to work with fabrics....I actually can't wait to do some more chairs. How fun would that be?

So, here's a before picture. And then, one in the process:

I decided to add pink to the middle of the handles. So, this is going in a room that is hot pink and zebra. What girl wouldn't want that?

And here is another after picture:

I truly believe that happiness is a choice. It's not always an easy choice, but when we're in a bad mood, sometimes we need a reminder to stop and choose to be happy. Can you see my new sign on the dresser? Thanks, Chrissy, I love it! Makes me happy. :) Oh, speaking of happy, I finished this dresser make-over....isn't she lovely? Do you want to see the before? Silly question, of course you do!!

Not too bad, if you're decorating a young boys room with a sports theme....but this dresser had so much more potential. I mixed my own gray paint because the shade I had was just too light. I painted the side panels and drawer fronts gray and the rest black. I love the two tones here. I finished with a clear furniture wax for extra protection. Of course, the hardware needed replaced since the previous drawer pulls were balls. I was excited to find the handles with silver and black, they seem to tie it all together. Here are a few more pictures:

It was cold so I had to paint inside.....until the fumes started smelling good. Uh oh!

Had to wax outside!

Then back inside for her photo shoot. I always have fun with the props!

Different angles, different lighting, different decor.....

I am very pleased of how she turned out and have no doubt she will sell quickly. I am very passionate about my work, it makes me happy to transform old pieces and give them a new life. Life is not always easy but it helps to find something to be passionate about. Smile, even if its forced, and choose to just be happy!

As promised, here is the trash to treasure dresser I was working on in my last post. I decided on some bright, fun colors for the drawers....look how nicely it matches my little corner. :)

Here's a reminder of how she looked before. Sad and homeless, poor thing. Luckily, I gave her a new look and hopefully a new home soon. Here are a few more pictures just for funsies:

Time to post an ad and move on to my next victim! Thanks again for reading my blog and have a very happy hump day.

Happy Monday Loves! The kiddo went back to school and I'm back to work, yea! Dressers are my best sellers so this year I really want to focus on them rather then hoarding random furniture. Everyone needs a dresser or two or five.....I have a couple right now in storage that I just haven't been inspired by so they can sit and wait for a bit. Sometimes Goodwill has dressers that are priced decent and Monday morning is a good time to check it out. So, that's what I did this morning while I was out and about freezing my booty off! Yes, they had one dresser. It was okay, but $40. It's hard to make a profit when you spend $40 on a dresser that's just okay. I left empty handed. Boo. Then, while I was driving home I saw a dresser out on the curb that someone was getting rid of....SCORE!! Luckily it was light enough for me to load by myself. I was so excited! Can't beat free. I got her home and brought her inside to clean up. The drawer rails are a little wonky, but overall not a bad piece. One man's trash is....well, my treasure!

The drawers are in good shape. Gotta do something about those pulls...maybe paint them the same color as the base?

I'm thinking about painting the drawers a bright coral color....or each drawer a different color? Just wanted a base coat to get started.....I'll show the finished piece as soon as she's complete!

Happy New Year! 2014, woot woot! I am so excited, I can feel it's going to be an amazing year! Here is my most recent furniture make over. I was asked to paint the base black and the drawers different shades of blue from dark to light. It's for 2 boys to share so I hope they like it. In my humble opinion, it's awesome! :)

Here she is in my carport patiently waiting to be fixed up.

The base had once been a maroonish color so was sanded off to reveal the wood for a fresh start.

The drawers still had paint and no drawer pulls so I sanded them down a little to get a smooth painting surface.

I had some black paint for the base, picked up a couple paint samples from Lowes for the drawers, then got to work. After a couple coats and some time to dry, I pulled out my sander and lightly distressed the whole piece. My handsome helper dusted her off for me. Nothing like a little free child labor, right? ;)

He loves helping mama! As a final touch, and extra protection, I applied a clear furniture wax.

Here are a few after pictures:

Once again, this piece already has found a good home but I can paint you a custom piece. May your year be filled with love and happiness. XoXo.

It's Christmas day and I want to wish everyone out there a very merry Christmas and a happy new year! 2013 is coming to an end so it's that time to make some resolutions for next year. What better way then to post them on here and hold myself accountable, right? Starting in January I plan to start running and train for the Tough Mudder which is in May. I also plan to start a website for my furniture so I can have my inventory listed and easier for people to see what's available. I plan on working my hardest on this business so I can make a living doing what I love. Thank you all for your love and support this last year.

I need to get to work now and test out these groovy pink tools I got for Christmas! Love them.

Here is my latest masterpiece! Pottery Barn sells some dressers with a black distressed finish that are absolutely gorgeous.....and waaaaay over priced. I'm talking over a grand for a dresser. This piece is perfect because it could be used for clothes in a bedroom or in any room someone needs a little extra extra storage space. Living room, craft room, guest bed room, where ever.

Extreme Close-Up!

I forgot to mention it has this unique slide out tray at the top. Potter Barn, do your dressers have a unique slide out tray at the top? Didn't think so!

And here's another picture of her all dressed up and ready to go!

This is a vintage Norcrest Fine China coffee or tea pot. A 1960's Golden 50th Anniversary Edition made in Japan. This pot must have always been packed away, because it is in excellent condition. Both pot and lid have NO chips, cracks, crazing or repairs. White with gold filigree and trim.

These are collectors items and mostly sold seperately online. I could sell as a set or seperately. Here are some pictures of the other lovely pieces.

Give me some sugar! :)

Don't forget the cream darling.

These dainty tea cups are matching, the picture shows both sides. So pretty!

This small plate would be easy to display on a stand or hang on a wall. Any of these would make a great gift or be a fantastic addition to a collection.

I also have a larger 50th anniversary plate with a wall hanger. It is Lefton China, also made in Japan.

50th anniversary....WOW, can you imagine?!
